Privacy Policy
Effective October 1, 2026
Always Lunes INC. (“Always Lunes,” “we,” “us”) runs What’s Up? (whatsup.alwayslunes.com), the Always Lunes app,
app.alwayslunes.com, our newsletter and our text updates (together, the “Services”). This policy explains what we
collect, why, who helps us, and the choices you have. We keep it short where we can, and we never sell your
personal information.

1. What we collect
Information you give us
- Sign-ups (waitlist, newsletter, app account): name, email, phone number (if you want texts), and optionally
your year of birth, neighborhood and how you’re part of the scene (going out, artist, band, collective, space).
- Your preferences in the app: answers to our quizzes, events you star or mark “I’m going,” ABCS you follow,
guides you make, and filters you choose. Signed in, these sync to your account so they’re on every phone.
- Your lore: nights you mark “i was there!” and the stars you give them. Stars may be shared with the ABCS behind
the night. Private notes stay on your phone; they are never sent to us.
- Where you’re from and how you identify (optional, in the welcome steps): the countries you and your family are
from (shown as flags on your profile) and self-ID tags such as queer, Black, Latine or Caribbean. Self-ID is private
unless you choose to show it; we use it to bring you nights, guides and ABCS that are for you, and never sell it.
- Purchases: what you bought and when (membership, guides). Card details go straight to our payment processor or
to Apple / Google; we never see your full card number.
- ABCS (artists, bands, collectives, spaces): what you add to your profile when you claim or edit it, and the
details you send to verify it’s you.
- Messages and submissions: events you submit, partner or sponsorship inquiries, and anything you send us.
Information collected automatically
- Usage and device data: pages and screens viewed, clicks, time spent, referring site, approximate location
(city level, from your IP address), browser, device and operating system. See Analytics.
- App identifiers: before you sign in, the app creates a random device ID so your quiz answers and saved
events stay with you. Saved events live on your device until you sign in.
- Email and link activity: our emails include a small image and tracked links so we can see whether an
email was opened and which links were clicked.
- Cookies and similar storage: used for analytics, to remember things like a dismissed pop-up, and to keep
you signed in.
- Location: only if you tap “near me” on the map. Your device shares your position with the map on your
phone to center it; we don’t store it.
2. How we use it
- To run the Services: show events, guides and profiles, save your picks, and set up your feed from your quiz answers.
- To send the newsletter, launch news and texts you asked for (see Emails and texts).
- To verify ABCS claims and manage who can edit a page.
- To understand what people use and improve it, and to report audience numbers (always aggregated) to venues,
organizers and partners.
- To keep the Services safe, prevent spam and abuse, and meet legal obligations.
3. Analytics and Google signals
We use Google Analytics 4 on our websites to understand how people find and use the Services. Google Analytics
uses cookies and similar technology to collect usage data such as pages viewed, time on page, clicks, device type,
approximate location and how you arrived.
Google signals. We have turned on Google signals in Google Analytics. When you’re signed in
to your Google account and have allowed Google to personalize ads, Google may link your activity on our sites with your
Google account to give us aggregated, anonymized reports about our audience, such as age range, gender and
interests, and to measure activity across your devices. We only see these reports in aggregate; we never receive your
Google account details or information that identifies you, and we don’t use Google signals to advertise to you.
You can turn this off anytime in your Google ad settings,
block Google Analytics with the Google Analytics opt-out add-on,
and read how Google uses information from sites that use its services.
Google Analytics data is kept for 14 months, then deleted. On app.alwayslunes.com we may also use the Meta Pixel to
measure sign-ups from our Instagram and Facebook posts and ads; you can manage this in your
Meta ad preferences.
In the app we don’t use Google Analytics or any outside tracker. The app tells our own server about a few steps (opening the app, starting and finishing the quiz, seeing the membership screen, tapping buy, tapping “i’m going!” or a star) with your random device ID and, if you’re signed in, your account, so we can count how many people get through each step. We don’t sell it or share it.
4. Emails and texts
- Email: we send the newsletter and updates only if you signed up. Every email has an unsubscribe link that
works in one click.
- Texts: we text you only if you gave your number and agreed to receive texts. Message frequency varies;
message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out at any time, or HELP for help. We don’t share
your phone number or text consent with anyone for their own marketing.
5. Who we share with
We don’t sell your personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We share it only
with companies that help us run the Services, under contracts that limit how they can use it:
- Hosting and database providers.
- Email delivery providers.
- Text message providers.
- Analytics and measurement providers.
- Website and map providers.
- App stores and payment processors, which handle purchases; we don’t see your full card details.
We may also share information if the law requires it, to protect people’s safety or our rights, or as part of a
merger or sale of the business (in which case this policy keeps applying to your information).
When you open an Instagram profile or a ticket link from the app, that page is run by Instagram or the ticket seller,
and their privacy policies apply.
6. ABCS profiles and public info
Our directory lists artists, bands, collectives and spaces in South Florida’s scene. Profiles are public and may
include information those ABCS have already made public, such as a name, photo, Instagram handle, links and events. If
a profile is about you, you can claim it to edit it, or ask us to correct or remove it by emailing
[email protected].
7. How long we keep it
We keep your information while your account or subscription is active and as needed to run the Services. When you
unsubscribe we keep only what’s needed to honor that choice (for example, that your email or number opted out). When
you delete your account in the app, we delete your account data within 30 days, except where the law requires us to
keep something longer. Analytics data is kept for 14 months.
8. Your choices and rights
- Unsubscribe from emails with the link in any email; reply STOP to texts.
- Edit your details or delete your account in the app (Settings), or email us.
- Turn off analytics as described in section 3, and block or clear cookies in your browser.
- Depending on where you live (for example California and other US states), you may have the right to know what
we collect, get a copy, correct it, delete it, and opt out of sale or targeted advertising (we don’t sell or do
targeted advertising with your personal information). We won’t treat you differently for using these rights.
To make a request, email [email protected]. We may need to confirm
it’s you, and we’ll answer within 45 days. You can use an authorized agent; we may ask for proof they act for you.
9. Children
The Services are not directed to children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect personal information from them.
If you believe a child under 13 gave us information, email us and we’ll delete it. Some listed events are 18+ or 21+;
it’s up to organizers and venues to check ages at the door.
10. Security
We use encryption in transit, access controls and trusted providers to protect your information. No system is
perfectly secure, so please use a strong email password and tell us if you notice anything off.
11. Changes
If we change this policy, we’ll update the date at the top, and for important changes we’ll tell you by email or in
the app before they take effect.
