This one feels especially personal for us. Violetas has always been our outlet, a space for creative freedom, for bridging the music we grew up with and the sounds we live in now, and for bringing people together in communion on the dancefloor. It’s been about release, expression, and finding catharsis in a world that doesn’t always make space for us. But right now, the outside world feels heavier, and it’s coming for our community in real ways. So we’re choosing to level up, and to take everything Violetas is and channel it into something that gives back. Diamantes y Deseos: The World Is Yours is us going all the way there. The boldest, most ambitious Violetas we’ve done, inspired by Miami’s legacy of excess and nightlife mythology, and subverting the tropes that have been placed on us to come together for something meaningful. We’re turning lasrosasmiami into Violetas Hotel (our take on The Mutiny) for one night only, with a 70s glam / 80s goth dress code, DJs laurenmpalma and misspurple.mp3 keeping it dark and sexy, and a special live performance by girlcop305 . Our friends from dykenitemiami will be facilitating dance cards to ensure theirs no missed connections at the function, and for the first time, while we’ve never charged a cover, we’ll be collecting donations at the door on a sliding scale, along with early contributions via the link in bio—all in support of immigrant rights!
