Supermarket is proud to present Holy Red, a debut solo exhibition by photographer Johel Pereira. Shot on medium format film, the work moves through historic churches across Miami/South Florida—treating them as sites of visual memory and structures that continue to accumulate meaning as the city evolves around them. Each photograph is framed in daguerreotype frame: a reference to ritual, tradition, and the quieter question of what becomes of these places, their meaning, and what they hold, as the world around them changes? The exhibition extends into moving image and sound, with an archival video installation that deepens the photographic work into more of a meditative state. Join us for the opening of Holy Red at Homebase Studios on August 14th, 2026 from 6:30–9:30 PM. The exhibition runs through September 4th, 2026, with programming throughout.
